Raised in rural Ohio, Jeremy learned the value of hard work and what it meant to get the job done at an early age. Jeremy started his career doing the tasks most didn’t want to do and when times got tough and he was laid off of work, he refused to go on unemployment but rather spent his days knocking on doors, putting up flyers looking for work. All of his hard work and determination led him to start his own company which he turned into a well sought after and successful business.
In 2011, Jeremy stepped out in faith, following a call from God on his life, closed out his business and moved his family to Alabama to work as a chaplain inside of one of the most violent prisons within the State. Although the move may have looked foolish to some, Jeremy had a vision for his future and risked failure in order to see it through. Jeremy spent 8 ½ years within the prison as a chaplain, working daily with the men leading initiatives to reduce the violence and prepare them for reentry into society.
In 2018, Jeremy led an initiative to help bring awareness to the injustices within the criminal justice system in Alabama. He led an effort to bring together the community to discuss the barriers that exist for formerly incarcerated men and women to be able to obtain a second chance in society. Out of the effort some legislation was passed to eliminate some of those barriers and in 2019 the first Second Chance Hiring Fair was birthed in the State of Alabama. Jeremy has teamed up with the local District Attorney who is now the face of the Hiring Fair along with other local ministries and agencies and hundreds with criminal records are now gainfully employed. The estimate economic impact as of March 2023 from the Second Chance Hiring Fair is $17,000,000.
Jeremy now serves as a Senior Prison Ministry Manager for Prison Fellowship. He oversees all of Prison Fellowships Field Operations within the State. One of those programs is the Prison Fellowship Academy. The Academy program is a 12–14-month program that prepares men and women to lead in the change of prison culture and prepares them to be a successful citizen within society. When Jeremy began in this role only one such program existed within the State and he has grown it to eight across the State with approximately 160 enrolled in the program.
Jeremy understands the value of hard work, taking risks, growth, and following your dreams and calling. He has seen closed doors and has been faced with many a difficult situation but has never given up and many of those closed doors ended up opening up at the end. Jeremy believes in adding value to those around him so that they may multiply value to others, and he seeks to do so daily as he leads in various ways. He has coached many on setting goals for their life and taking the right steps to achieve them. Each person has value and within each person there is greatness. Jeremy believes that his responsibility in coaching is to lead the person on a path of discovery to where they discover their greatness within.
